YOUR LABEL

These nametags could be read from about 200 yards off’
Such big letters.

If you know Christ as Lord and Savior by faith, you have a name tag label which never comes off of you: “Christian”.

“Christian” literally means “a little Christ”.

Acts 12:26B: “… and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch”.

Let’s Live up to our holy Name!

After all our permanent name tag is written in very large letters each day!

COMMON SENSE IS NOT COMMON

How could this happen?  Well, obviously they had never launched a boat before! But still, how do you not back down the ramp? And what are they checking by the stern while their pick-up truck fills up with lake water?

Foolish is as foolish does!

Proverbs 12:15 says this about someone who is a fool (in God’s evaluation!):
“Way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise.”

If they didn’t know how to launch a boat, they could’ve avoided a lot of embarrassment & expense by asking someone how to do it!

Be wise & not foolish: Readily admit that you’re not always right and don’t hesitate to seek the advice of others who know more than you do.

Can you imagine filling out the insurance claim form for this fiasco?

Good Night

This gentleman is about to have a medical sleep study.
I can’t imagine falling or staying asleep with all that get up.
Sleep is a wonderful restorative blessing from God.
But just like this young man will probably be inhibited by all that which is attached to him for the sleep study, we can leave fears and anxieties and the desire to be in control and the refusal to forgive glued to us at bedtime!

Psalm 4:8 is a wonderful reminder!
“I will both lie down in peace and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

Rest & sleep in more than your bed each night. Rest & sleep in the peace which the perfect love and care of God for you give to you. Good Night. Every Night.

Where To Begin?

Food choices are fun! But they also require that we prioritize: We only have so much room on our plates and in our stomachs!

In life we have many moral and non-moral decisions to make each day.
For example a moral decision would be: Whether or not to lie.
And an example of a non-moral decision would be: What colour shirt to wear.

It should be obvious what to choose when it comes to choosing between good and evil! But sometimes it is equally difficult to choose between what is good and what is excellent!

In some cases the good can be the enemy of the excellent.

Philippians 1:9-10 teach:
“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ …”.

The Bible gives us the excellent way.

Bon Appetite!

Clear as Mud!

What speed is that?! High School math was a long time ago for me!

Plenty of things really need to be clear. Two of those things are our presentations of the gospel and preachers’ presentations of the Bible!

1 Corinthians 14:8 is teaching in the context of interpreting biblical tongues (The speaking of known languages by persons who previously had no knowledge of those languages), but it also has relevance & applicability in the matter of the communication of spiritual truth!

“For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?”
1 Corinthians 14:8  NKJV

The three rules for communication, especially communication about spiritual truth:  Be Clear. Be Clear. Be Clear.
