NOT EVERYONE RECOGNIZES THIS

There is a generation of smart phone users who have never seen this kind of a dial.
It is an obsolete “dinosaur” from a by-gone day.

So much has changed & so rapidly in the area of telephone technology!

Of course, there is One Who thankfully is completely unchanging: The Lord Jesus Christ!

Hebrews 13:8:

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.”

Ponder the tremendous benefits to you since your Lord & Saviour is unchanging & never obsolete!

A GIFT BETTER NOT GIVEN

There is humor in this cartoon because most of us have experienced a person trying to give a gift which they don’t have or which they don’t have with competence.

Too many unsolicited words often reveal the foolishness of the speaker. It’s better to be slow to speak.

Proverbs 17:28:

“Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is counted prudent.”

My Grandfather’s creed was “if you can’t improve on silence, then don’t speak.”

A BAD IDEA

This guy is trying to grow a Mohawk hair look. Probably he saw someone who is less hair-challenged grow one.

This is clearly a case of comparison being a very bad idea.

In Luke 13:1-5 Jesus pointed out the error of comparing oneself to others with respect to sin.

“Now on the same occasion there were some present who reported to Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And He answered and said to them, ‘Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered this fate? I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem? I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.’ ”

Jesus’ point was this: Don’t compare yourself to anyone that you suppose to be a bigger sinner than you. Realize that all sinners need to repent!

SUCKED IN – THE OTHER SIDE OF FUN & GAMES

Blows Holes are an impressive display of God’s creation!

Understandably, many sight-seers & tourists get near to them for photo-ops.

The hand-painted warning sign seems to be from a grieving heart. The cross in the bottom corner suggests to me that a loved one of the sign creator may have gotten too close & and perished.

God warns us in His Word that there is peril if we wander too close to certain sin dangers. We will get “sucked” in.

Sometimes those dangers are persons:

“Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company corrupts good morals’.” 1 Corinthians 15:33

Other times those dangers are within us, pride & worry:

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:6-8)

God loves you & me enough to warn us about Spiritual Blow Holes. Stay clear.

We Meet Again!

This is the picture of me and my Dallas Seminary friend, Dale Losch.

The Lord has led in our lives!

Dale and I are both originally from Canada.

The Lord gave Dale his wife, Jerusha, in San Diego California. The Lord gave me my wife, Beth, in Dallas Texas.

After Dallas Seminary, Dale & Jerusha served the Lord in France & Canada & in the USA.

After Dallas Seminary, Beth & I served the Lord in Canada & America & now in the Bahamas.

And, at the moment that this photo was snapped, Dale & I sang to the Lord, together, in the Bahamas(!) some 35 years later!

Lamentations 3:22-23 fit this story!

“The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness.”

Sometime take the time to trace God’s direction of your many paths. It will do your “worship” good!
